The news noted that the Duchess of Sussex&#8217;s name had been changed on the official document, with her forenames, Rachel and Meghan, being removed altogether and instead, the certificate labelling Archie\u2019s mum as, &#8220;Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.\u201d Prince Harry, meanwhile, is labelled \u201cHis Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though some tabloids reported that Markle was responsible for changing her name, today, a spokesperson for the duchess set the record straight. &#8220;The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials,&#8221; a spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/01\/31\/meghan-markle-says-palace-is-behind-change-archies-birth-certificate\/\" target=\"_blank\">explained in a statement<\/a>. &#8220;This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The spokesperson continued, &#8220;To see this UK tabloid and their carnival of so-called \u2018experts\u2019 chose to deceptively whip this into a calculated family \u2018snub\u2019 and suggest that she would oddly want to be nameless on her child\u2019s birth certificate, or any other legal document would be laughable were it not offensive. There\u2019s a lot going on in the world; let\u2019s focus on that rather than creating clickbait.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other reports suggested that Prince Harry is likely to make a trip back to the UK in June for for the Queen and Prince Philip\u2019s birthdays, as well as to attend the unveiling of a statue of his mother Princess Diana. Though Harry, Meghan, and Archie haven\u2019t yet visited the UK or royal family since they moved overseas last year, Meghan will stay behind in the couple\u2019s Los Angeles home. Rather than the decision to skip the trip being due to drama, it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2021\/01\/30\/meghan-to-stay-home-as-harry-visits-uk-in-first-trip-since-megxit-13991054\/\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a> more to do with uncertainty surrounding the pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12566\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12566\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12566\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2021\/02\/GettyImages-1177044844-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"725\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12566\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Pool\/Samir Hussein\/WireImage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But that&#8217;s not all that&#8217;s happening in the life of the Sussexes. Today, Harry accepted an apology and &#8220;substantial damages&#8221; from <em>The Mail On Sunday<\/em> and <em>MailOnline<\/em>&#8216;s publisher over articles published in October which claimed he snubbed the Royal Marines after stepping down as a senior royal.
