The HBO dramedy, which followed four friends navigating the chaos of being twenty-something women in New York City, will return in 2027, a decade after its finale aired. Creator Lena Dunham will reunite with original cast members Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells, with executive producer Judd Apatow also returning.<\/div>\n

Girls was the cultural television moment of the 2010s as a defining portrait of millennial women. Its central characters were selfish, chaotic and unlikeable. Where We Left the Girls<\/em><\/h2>\n
At the end of the original series, Hannah was a new mother to baby Grover, preparing to become a college professor. Marnie was living upstate with Hannah and helping raise her son, while Shoshanna was engaged and distancing herself from the group. Jessa, meanwhile, was back together with Adam after abandoning her therapist training.<\/div>\n

What Can We Expect From Their Next Chapter?<\/h2>\n
In a 2025 interview with Variety<\/em>, creator Dunham shared her thoughts on where each of the Girls<\/em> would be. Describing Hannah, she says, \u201cShe teaches at Bard and loves raising her son. She probably has a girlfriend who\u2019s, like, a chef. And she\u2019s less obsessed with being famous.\u201d<\/div>\n

She predicted Marnie would be on her third marriage, still singing. Williams’ predictions for her character were pretty similar, telling Vanity Fair<\/em>, \u201cI think Marnie\u2019s still trying to have a singing career, in addition to other jobs. I picture her with another marriage under her belt; I think probably on the verge of deciding to have a baby on her own.\u201d<\/div>\n
