If you’re a big fan of Harlan Coben, you are probably already asking the important question: when is the next one landing in your queue on Netflix? You devoured I Will Find You, you have vague trust issues with every neighbor on your block, and now the Sunday Scaries feel incomplete without a new missing-person cold case.

Well, we have some good news for you.

The next big fix is the UK-set adaptation of Coben’s novel The Woods, led by Michelle Keegan and Tom Bateman. Filming is officially in the can and the Coben–Netflix machine is rolling into its next phase.

When Can We Expect The Woods to Hit Netflix?

As of mid October 2026, Netflix has not announced an official The Woods Harlan Coben Netflix release date.

What we do know: cameras started rolling in the UK at the end of April 2026 and wrapped in mid October, with star Michelle Keegan marking her final day around October 10 and producer Quay Street Productions celebrating the wrap a few days later. For Coben’s recent limited series, that kind of schedule usually translates to roughly six to nine months of post-production before release.

Industry trackers therefore expect The Woods to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2027, most likely in the first half of the year – think spring into early summer – for viewers in the US and everywhere else Netflix streams the show simultaneously.

The Production Timeline

  • Late April 2026 – Netflix officially unveils the UK adaptation of The Woods and confirms filming has begun around Greater Manchester.

  • Spring and summer 2026 – The eight-episode thriller shoots across the UK, with Keegan juggling rain-soaked woodland scenes and courtroom drama.

  • October 10 2026 – Keegan signals her last day on set on social media.

  • Mid October 2026 – Quay Street Productions posts that production has wrapped, and fan sites pick up the news within hours.

Look at the recent Coben pattern: British series like Fool Me Once, Missing You, and Run Away have typically dropped six to eight months after filming ended. Apply that math to an October wrap and you land in a likely window running from roughly April to July 2027. It is not confirmed, but it is a reasonable, evidence-based guess – and exactly the sort of stretch Netflix loves for dark, twisty limited series.

The End Of Harlan Coben New Year’s Day Tradition

If you built a tradition around hitting play on a Harlan Coben show every January 1, you are not imagining that pattern. Fool Me Once arrived on January 1 2024, Missing You on January 1 2025, and Run Away on January 1 2026. New Year became Coben Day, globally.

Early chatter assumed The Woods would continue that streak on January 1 2027. That prediction has quietly died. Netflix has already given that slot to Jaime Dornan’s thriller The Twin, which means The Woods is officially skipping the New Year coronation. For US viewers, that simply means you can book brunch on January 1 and save your binge-watching energy for later in the year.

So What Is The Woods Actually About?

The Woods is classic Coben: one devastating night in the past, two decades of secrets, and a present-day crime that rips everything open again. Tom Bateman plays Paul “Cope” Copeland, a lawyer whose sister vanished from a teen summer camp twenty years earlier. When a body surfaces that appears tied to that night in the woods, Cope has to ask whether his sister might have survived – and what really happened when the flashlights went out.

Michelle Keegan’s Lucy Silverfield is drawn back into the case with him, forcing the pair to pick through old lies, police files, and relationships that never healed. Think humid summer flashbacks, chilly modern courtrooms, and morally questionable choices styled in excellent outerwear.

    The Cast And Creative Team

Keegan is fast becoming Netflix’s go-to face of glossy UK thrillers after fronting Fool Me Once; pairing her with Bateman – fresh off a run of prestige dramas – gives The Woods instant binge appeal. Around them, there is a stacked supporting cast including Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, James Buckley, Rade Sherbedgia, Tom Allen, and more.

Behind the camera, Harlan Coben returns as creator and executive producer, with frequent collaborator Danny Brocklehurst writing. They are the team behind several of the New Year juggernauts, which is partly why fans are so confident this one will land in the same broad calendar neighborhood, even if not on the same ceremonial day.

[38,16,3925

Netflix’s Much Awaited Harlan Coben Thriller Has Finished Filming — and We Finally Have a Clue About Its Release Date - Grazia USA

<meta property="og:description" content="If you’re a big fan of Harlan Coben, you are probably already asking the important question: when is the next one landing in your queue on Netflix?
