For Amal Clooney, the secret to a happy marriage starts long before the wedding.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to People<\/em><\/a> at the Albies in London on October 9, the human rights lawyer offered a succinct explanation for her enduring relationship with George Clooney.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you choose the most incredible person, then it all goes well from there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

George responded with a joke about Amal complimenting herself before expressing his gratitude for their relationship. Asked what he loves most about his wife, he replied: \u201cThat\u2019s a longer, longer show.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Glittering Night With a Purpose<\/h2>\n

Naturally, Amal brought plenty of glamour to the occasion. Her off-the-shoulder Gucci gown featured a bustier bodice and embellishments that shifted from silver to gold, with beaded fringe adding movement through the skirt. Loose curls, statement earrings and a white clutch completed the look.<\/p>\n

The evening also reflected a shared commitment beyond the red carpet. Now in its fifth year, the Clooney Foundation for Justice\u2019s annual ceremony recognizes people working to defend human rights, often at considerable personal risk. This year\u2019s honorees included photojournalist Lynsey Addario and Malawian girls\u2019 rights advocate Vanessa Mwangala.<\/p>\n

Between the glittering dress and the affectionate teasing, the couple delivered a memorable red carpet moment.
