Cindy Crawford\u2019s representative confirmed that Presley Gerber, her son, died on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at age 27. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner lists his place of death as a rehab facility in Los Angeles County.<\/p>\n

The Crawford-Gerber family issued a short statement through their rep asking for privacy during a \u201cvery difficult and painful time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Has Presley Gerber\u2019s Cause Of Death Been Released?<\/h2>\n

On the official record, Presley\u2019s cause of death is still \u201cnot listed.\u201d Multiple outlets, including CNN and Associated Press, report the same thing: the medical examiner has confirmed the death and the location but not what, medically, ended his life.<\/p>\n

As of September 21, 2026, there is no public ruling on either the cause or the manner of death. Any TikTok claiming \u201cconfirmed overdose\u201d or \u201cconfirmed suicide\u201d is guessing, not reporting.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles County\u2019s medical examiner handles sudden, unexpected or non-hospital deaths. That usually means an autopsy, toxicology tests and a review of medical history and scene reports. Toxicology alone can take weeks. Sometimes longer.<\/p>\n

When the investigation is complete, the office updates its online case search with a specific cause of death and a manner of death, such as accident, natural, suicide or undetermined. Until that changes on the county site, everything is provisional, however confident it sounds on social.<\/p>\n

Inside Presley Gerber\u2019s Public Battle With Addiction And Mental Health<\/h2>\n

Presley Walker Gerber grew up in front of cameras. He walked Moschino at 16, then showed up for Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and more. Campaigns for Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi, Omega. The kind of r\u00e9sum\u00e9 that makes agents purr.<\/p>\n

He also made pain part of his brand. On the Studio 22 podcast, he talked about using his platform to raise awareness, calling mental health \u201csuch a big part of my life,\u201d Studio 22 revealed in a new interview. He launched his own \u201cMental Health Mondays\u201d series and worked with LA nonprofit A Sense of Home, trying to funnel model-boy clout into something less shallow.<\/p>\n

Last December, he posted an Instagram video explaining his use of prescription medications, including antidepressants and Xanax for panic attacks. \u201cUnfortunately, I\u2019ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently,\u201d he said in the clip, which has since been removed. It sounded less like confession, more like a man narrating his own case file.<\/p>\n

In comments beneath the video, his mother cut through the noise. \u201cPresley \u2013 we love you and you are not alone,\u201d she wrote. It was the kind of public sentence that reads simple until you realize how many private versions came before it at 3 a.m.<\/p>\n

In other interviews, he described a severe opiate addiction, including a near fatal fentanyl overdose that left him in a coma. He tried psychiatrists, rehab, even experimental treatments abroad. None of that tells us why he died in that facility on that Sunday. It does tell us how hard he had been trying to stay alive.<\/p>\n

How His Family Spoke About His Struggles<\/h2>\n

Earlier this month, Kaia Gerber talked about watching her brother battle addiction in American Vogue\u2019s September issue. \u201cWhen something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,\u201d she revealed in a new interview. She admitted she labeled herself \u201cthe easy one\u201d and avoided asking for help so her parents would not feel like they had two children in crisis.<\/p>\n

She also refused to let him be reduced to a cautionary tale. \u201cMy parents for most of our lives were very, very private and did not share anything \u2013 and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, \u2018I am gonna be very human for everyone,\u2019\u201d she revealed in a new interview. For a fashion dynasty that built itself on perfection, Presley chose mess, honesty and trial and error in public.<\/p>\n

On his 27th birthday in July, Cindy posted a tribute on Facebook: proud of the man he had become, but still seeing him as her little boy. You did not need backstage access at Calvin Klein to know she meant it.<\/p>\n
