Pregnant women and mothers are subjected to never-ending criticism when it comes to the choices they make about their children and their own bodies, something that’s multiplied significantly when you\u2019re famous and social media gives millions of people access to say whatever they like, without consequence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday night, model Emily Ratajkowski, who\u2019s pregnant with her first child with husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, was forced to deny getting lip filler during her pregnancy, saying that while she’d “never had lip injections,” she wasn’t “judging folks who do.”<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued, “You can’t even get injections when you’re pregnant! … A woman’s blood volume increases 50% which is why ladies can get a little puffy in the face and lips during pregnancy.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Kim Kardashian faced similar backlash during her two pregnancies, with fans <\/span>accusing her<\/span> of getting Botox or dermal filler. The constant reports prompted Kardashian to respond on social media at the time. She wrote, “No I don’t do fillers or botox when pregnant like some tabloids are reporting, you would have to be really sick to endanger your child like that. Anyone who has been pregnant or gained weight knows your face totally changes! My nose gets bigger, cheeks fuller & my lips swell up.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, when Beyonc\u00e9 was pregnant, several gossip sites published articles saying the singer had \u201cprobably\u201d had lip filler while pregnant with her twins. At the time, the singer’s representative, Yvette Noel-Schure, <\/span>said in response<\/span><\/a>, “What do you know about the effects of pregnancy on a woman’s entire body? Did you know that in addition to weight gain there is often a dramatic change in the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling? Do you know that often women’s gums get swollen? Do you know that it sometimes affects our speech, our ability to chew intently and a host of other things?”<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued, “The sacrifice to our faces, our feet and our entire bodies is something we welcome because we bring beautiful humans into the world who will one day combat your hate and negativity,” Noel-Schure added. “I stood silent during Beyonce’s first pregnancy when you thought it was okay to bully her like the cowards you are, when you accused her of never being pregnant, but I simply cannot this time.”<\/span><\/p>\n

After shutting down the unnecessary rumors about her lips, Ratajkowski also noted that she’d seen a plethora of changes in her body throughout her pregnancy. “Weird to have your body change so much in a matter of months,” she explained, noting that she now has a “whole new appreciation for what [her] body can do and what is beautiful … I’m gonna celebrate it on here when I feel like it
