Instead, Hudson and her brother, Oliver, were raised by her mother, Goldie Hawn, and their stepfather, Kurt Russell. In reference to her biological father, Hudson called the estrangement a \u201c41 year issue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI think that estrangement is unfortunately quite common,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it\u2019s important for people to talk about that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hudson continued: \u201cSometimes [we] need a little bit of talk and humor to move us into places where we can heal some of the wounds that have affected us and our families.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI have a great family, I have a beautiful mother, I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life, but it doesn\u2019t take away from the fact that we didn\u2019t know our dad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPeople sometimes need to hear that they\u2019re not alone in that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"css-abwga9\" data-widget=\"paragraph\">\n<div class=\"css-9pba4v\">\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time that Hudson has spoken about her estranged father recently, either. During a recent episode of her <i>Sibling Revelry<\/i> podcast, the <em>How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days<\/em> star said she\u2019s \u201cbeen thinking a lot about dad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been thinking about our sisters that we don\u2019t spend any time with, and our brothers,\u201d she told her brother, Oliver, during the episode. \u201cWe\u2019ve got four siblings we don\u2019t spend any time with\u2026 [and] it would be nice to connect a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hudson added: \u201cWe\u2019ve been talking so much about sibling relationships, and distraught relationships. And we\u2019re sitting here like, we\u2019ve got the best family, we\u2019re so great. And yet, we don\u2019t ever acknowledge the fact that we have four other siblings. Four.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019ve been thinking a lot about the Hudsons.
