What makes Mirren’s version so effective, Fouche explains, is the way it recreates youthful upward movement. The cut builds subtle volume and structure through the crown and cheekbone area, drawing the eye upward and producing a visible lifting effect around the jawline. Her deep side parting and sweeping fringe amplify the illusion further: a side-swept fringe helps the face appear more oval-shaped, a proportion traditionally associated with youth and balance.
