And I get it. Most of the time, the launches are great. It&#8217;s also a modern, interesting beauty brand, who seem to take innovation in their stride. Case in point is the latest addition: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecca.com.au\/drunk-elephant\/sweet-biome-fermented-sake-spray\/I-047332.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Spray<\/a> (or Sweet B for short). Generally speaking, face mists are nice to have, but somewhat limited in their long term effects on the skin. I still use them though! Every single day! Partly because I enjoy the ritualistic element, but also because I like to apply my skincare on already-dampened skin. But back to Drunk Elephant. The Sweet Biome Mist is slightly different in that it&#8217;s designed to actually treat the skin, both in terms of barrier repair and hydration. It&#8217;s an interesting take on a traditional category, and one that piqued my personal interest right from the start (did I mention I love a mist?).<\/p>\n<p>But how much (if anything) can a mist do for one&#8217;s skin? Has DE produced something wonderful? Keep reading for the review.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Is The Drunk Elephant Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Spray?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So this mist is a mix of ferments, skin soothers, hydrators and electrolytes, all designed to promote a healthy skin barrier, nourish the skin&#8217;s microbiome, and top up moisture levels. In terms of specific ingredients, there are fermented sake extract, kombucha, and hops, all designed to soothe and restore the acid mantle. Coconut water, sodium PCA, ceramides and vitamin F keep things moist, whereas minerals like zinc and calcium gluconate are said to reduce redness and promote collagen production. Phew. Sounds like a lot, and that&#8217;s because it is! For a mist, anyway. In short, it&#8217;s like a pre- and probiotic for your face.\u00a0 Whether or not that&#8217;s totally necessary for skin health is a little fuzzy, but it certainly can&#8217;t hurt(and anything that aims to promote barrier health is a yes from me).<\/p>\n<p><strong>How Do You Use It?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So when it comes to mist, you can typically use it as you see fit: to set makeup, prep for makeup, finish off a skincare routine, refresh during the day or between skincare steps. The case here is slightly different. Because it&#8217;s more of a treatment product, the idea it that you use it on clean skin before you go in with serums, moisturizers and SPF. Of course, you can use it to refresh throughout the day (it&#8217;s got a nice dewy finish) but applying onto clean skin will give you the greatest chance at success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verdict:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Controversially, I&#8217;ve not been wowed by every single Drunk Elephant product out there. For example, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecca.com.au\/drunk-elephant\/lala-retro-whipped-cream-50ml\/I-038949.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer<\/a> is one of the best winter day creams I&#8217;ve some across, but I found the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mecca.com.au\/drunk-elephant\/tlc-framboos-glycolic-night-serum-50ml\/I-031501.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum<\/a> too strong. But this mist. Wow. It&#8217;s love. It feels hydrating, soothing and like it genuinely plumps my skin. It doesn&#8217;t dampen the face quite like my regular French thermal water iteration, but if you&#8217;re looking for a gentle mist with skincare benefits, this is probably one of the best I&#8217;ve tried.<\/p>\n<p>The last thing I&#8217;ll mention is the scent. Like the rest of the brand, it has a subtle &#8220;no-fragrance fragrance&#8221; that is neither good nor bad. But it fades quickly.
