Our hearts broke for Stephanie Seymour this week as we learned her 24-year-old son, Harry Brant, died on Sunday, January 17, after years of struggling with addiction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The supermodel and her husband, high-profile businessman Peter Brant, confirmed their son’s death the following day in a statement<\/a>, revealing that the young style star accidentally overdosed<\/a> on prescription medication.<\/p>\n

“It is with enormous sorrow<\/a> that we share with you the news that our beloved son, Harry Brant, lost his battle with addiction and died due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication,” their statement read. “Our hearts are shattered. Harry wanted to overcome his addiction and was just days away from re-entering rehab. Harry was not just our son, he was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle and a caring friend. He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people’s hearts. He was truly a beautiful person inside and out.”<\/p>\n

“He achieved a lot in his 24 years,” it continued. “But we will never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done. We will forever be saddened that Harry’s life was cut short by this devastating disease. We ask that you please allow our family privacy as we attempt to cope with the loss of our beautiful, beautiful boy.”<\/p>\n

Following in his famous mother’s footsteps, Brant lived his life immersed in art, style and fashion. As a model, he made appearances in Italian Vogue<\/em> and Balmain campaigns and wrote for Interview<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n

Once referred to as “NYC’s Most Beautiful Teenage Brothers” by the New York Times<\/em>, Brant and his older brother, Peter II ,started a gender-neutral MAC makeup line in 2015. During an interview one year after the brothers’ cosmetic launch, the “It Boy” revealed that his love for makeup<\/a> began when he “started stealing” and playing with his mom’s favorite products.<\/p>\n

“I think people can definitely express themselves in a great way through makeup, because it is all about fantasy and turning yourself into someone you might not necessarily be on an everyday basis, so you kind of get to escape for a night with this new persona,” he said at the time to W<\/em> magazine<\/a>. “That’s what I always did.”<\/p>\n
