The scales of justice have tipped in favour of Ryan Murphy<\/a>‘s All\u2019s Fair<\/em>, with the show getting renewed for a second season.<\/p>\n

Premiering in early November, the glossy, camp legal drama was highly anticipated for its high fashion, A-list cast and intriguing premise, but upon release, it didn’t quite land with critics\u2014to put it lightly.<\/p>\n

Following a group of brilliant, savvy female divorce attorneys breaking away from a male-dominated firm to build their own high-powered practice, the series was always ripe for spectacle. But even as critics lined up to pan the series, pointing out its awkward dialogue and tone-deaf displays of wealth, the legendary cast\u2014Kim Kardashian<\/a>, Naomi Watts<\/a>, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor<\/a>, Sarah Paulson<\/a> and Glenn Close\u2014and costumery have made for some entertaining,\u00a0bankable streaming.<\/p>\n

While Variety<\/em> dismissed the show as a \u201ccondescending take on girlboss fantasia\u201d and The Guardian<\/em><\/a> called it \u201cfascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible,\u201d the Birkin-filled series still soared to the top spot on Hulu’s viewership charts.<\/p>\n

Murphy, who writes, directs, and executive produces alongside a small army that includes Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Jamie Pachino, Lyn Greene, Richard Levine\u2014plus Kardashian, Close, Watts, Nash-Betts and Paulson\u2014now has the rare luxury of doubling down. Even Kris Jenner is in the producer mix, because of course she is.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Taylor gently defended the show\u2019s polarising debut. \u201cIt\u2019s our first season,\u201d she told Variety<\/em>. \u201cGive us a little bit of grace.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems viewers already have, with season two confirmed. While it’s unclear whether the show will take on any of the critical feedback, if Ryan Murphy’s TV world can be depended on for anything, it’s for some gloriously extra drama and fashion to match, which, in 2025, seems to be enough.<\/p>\n
