January 12, 2020:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>For the time being, the only place we’re traveling to amid the coronavirus pandemic is the mythical land of Versacepolis, an underwater destination dreamed up for Versace’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection show, held during Milan fashion week this past September. On Tuesday, Medusa muses Hailey Bieber<\/a>, Kendall Jenner, Mona Tougaard, and Precious Lee mentally transported us there once again, with the unveiling of the luxury Italian label’s Spring 2021 campaign.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recreating the sexy, fresh-out-of-the-shower look first debuted on the runway four months ago, Versace’s SS21 campaign stars sport wet hair courtesy of celebrity hairstylist <\/span>Paul Hanlon<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00e0 la Kim Kardashian’s hair<\/a> at the 2019 Met Gala. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni<\/a> naturally enhanced their features, prioritizing natural radiance and no-makeup-makeup rather than statement-making glam. There was no shortage of accessories to complement Versace’s bags and colorful prints, styled by London-based fashion stylist Jacob K.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

For the campaign, photographed by Mert and Marcus, the models pose with pieces from the fashion house’s new handbag line: La Medusa. Each bag in the not-yet-released line will include the label’s signature Medusa plaque. Additionally, it comes in a range of shades, including playful options like Bieber and Lee’s, and neutrals like Jenner’s black bag with gold detailing. This campaign marks Lee’s first time starring in a campaign for Versace, following her successful catwalk debut in September.\u00a0<\/span>Donatella Versace<\/span><\/a>\u00a0later\u00a0<\/span>Instagrammed a photo<\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the model, and in the accompanying caption, she wrote: “Welcome to the Versace family @preciousleexoxo \ud83d\udc99 You killed it on the runway!!! \ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25” For the new campaign, she wears the same ensemble she wore on the runway: a Tr\u00e9sor de la Mer-printed dress and the La Medusa handbag in DV blue.<\/span><\/p>\n

“With these images, I wanted to portray the modern Medusa. Or better, to highlight how her many faces can be drastically different from one another, and every woman can actually be Medusa,” said Donatella Versace in an official statement. “All of us, with our differences and unique characters, we can express ourselves also in the way we decide to dress.”<\/p>\n
