All eyes were on Carrie Coon as she hit the red carpet for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a> on September 14. The actress was nominated for her bold turn as\u00a0 <\/span>Laurie Duffy in Season 3 of White Lotus, but it was her freshly debuted close-cropped and mega-lightened haircut that caught our attention. Lucky for us, the star\u2019s longtime hairstylist, Jenny Cho<\/a>, shared exclusive details of the bold new style with GRAZIA.<\/p>\n

About that Color<\/h2>\n

Turns out the pixie cut (a departure from her golden, sharp bob) is for an upcoming, still-under-wraps role, but the swap to ultra ice blonde was quite recent. \u201cShe had her color done about a week before by Lena Ott,\u201d Cho revealed.<\/p>\n

The Inspiration for the Look<\/h2>\n

It was around that time that the plan for overall glam on the big night was hatched. Cho learned the details of the spectacular dress Coon planned to wear: A pale blue Chanel confection that reportedly took 341 hours to create. \u201cWe were able to think about how the hair could tie in without overcomplicating it,\u201d says the pro. It was a highly collaborative process between Coon\u2019s stylist, Alicia Lombardini, Cho, and the star herself. \u201cWe aligned on leaning into the timeless, modern pixie style,\u201d the hairstylist says, a look very closely tied to the fashion, \u201cinspired by Jean Seberg and Mia Farrow, with a modern twist that echoed the dress.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behind the Scenes<\/h2>\n

On Emmys Sunday, the vibes were high in a suite at a hotel in Beverly Hills as the Gilded Age actress\u2019 glam squad huddled to create red carpet magic. \u201cCarrie has such a fun and uplifting energy,\u201d says Cho, who was joined by Lombardini, makeup artist Kate Lee, and manicurist Bettina Goldstein. \u201cShe really set the tone for the day. We laughed a lot and kept everything lighthearted while getting her ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

As they set to work, Cho \u201clightly dusted the ends to freshen up\u201d the lines of the cut. Since it was freshly colored, \u201cher hair already felt soft, so no major treatments were needed.\u201d She focused instead on protecting the hair and coaxing shine with Nexxus products.<\/p>\n

All the Products Used<\/h2>\n

First, Cho bolstered her hair with Nexxus Prep & Protect Heat Defense Spray<\/a> plus a pump of Nexxus Epic Shine Spray<\/a> before blow-drying with her fingers. She then used a mini flat iron on tiny sections. \u201cDetailing makes all the difference in maintaining shape,\u201d advises the pro. A dab of Nexxus Repair and Nourishing Hair Oil<\/a> runs throughout, and a light, all-over mist of Nexxus Comb Through Flexible Hold Hairspray<\/a> \u201cwere essential for keeping the pixie sleek and glossy all night,\u201d she reveals.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarrie was so happy with how it turned out \u2014 and so was I,\u201d raved the pro. And then it was time to hit the red carpet. Cho armed the star with a purse-sized Nexxus Advanced Invisible Clean Dry Shampoo<\/a> to refresh her style if needed later.
