According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chanel.com\/us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chane<\/a>l\u2019s latest \u2014 and most concentrated \u2014 iteration of Bleu de Chanel, the aptly named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chanel.com\/us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bleu de Chanel L\u2019Exclusif<\/a>, fortune favors the bold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The scent is \u201ca dense, sophisticated and complex composition, like an extract,\u201d Olivier Polges, Chanel\u2019s in-house perfumer-creator, says. Meant to evoke the spirit of an ever-evolving man with his eye on the prize, a heady dose of (sustainably sourced) sandalwood mingles with woody amber, leathery notes, and unmistakably earthy resin. Reflecting the notion of infinite possibility, the flacon is fashioned in a perfect square silhouette. The 29-year-old phenom has redefined masculinity for the millennial set, from his bold <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/timothee-chalamet-cannes-red-carpet\/\">red carpet sartorial slays<\/a> to the quiet intellectual edge he lends the characters he plays. As an actual guitar-playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, the star garnered a Best Actor nomination. But it was <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/martin-scorsese-timothee-chalamet-bleu-de-chanel\/\">his quiet smolder<\/a> in the short film for Bleu de Chanel directed by Martin Scorsese that showed his true depth.<\/p>\n<h2>The Perfume Process<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Perhaps the most interesting twist to L\u2019Exclusif is the man behind the creation of the juice itself. <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/chanel-no-5\/\">Olivier Polges<\/a> started learning perfumery at the age of 20, and later took the reins as Chanel&#8217;s in-house perfumer in 2015, succeeding none other than his father, Jacques Polges. With L\u2019Exclusif, the idea was to add a new chapter to the fragrance\u2019s story,\u201d Polges says. \u201cTo do so, we started with an existing formula; then, like turning a kaleidoscope, we shifted the key components to reveal new facets, intensifying certain notes until new harmonies emerged. L&#8217;Exclusif leaves a distinctive mark, textured with leathery notes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The color blue was top of mind during the creation, but even this simple notion was reinterpreted. \u201cBleu de Chanel is no ordinary blue,\u201d Polges reveals. \u201cIt&#8217;s not the refreshing blue of a cloudless sky. It&#8217;s more intense \u2014 the final shade of blue before blue turns to black.
