Ella Hunt needed a haircut. And not just a summer dusting. The English actress<\/a> desired a major makeover for an upcoming role, and she trusted New York City-based hairstylist Jacob Rozenberg<\/a> to get the job done.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe sent me a text saying she was leaving town to start a film and was going for a big chop,\u201d Rozenberg says. \u201cI had been in and out of LA twice that week, so we met up late one night before we each took off on our next work adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behind the Process<\/h2>\n

The duo huddled together at the Hawthorne Salon in Chelsea to discuss Hunt\u2019s goals. Apparently, she needed to lose a significant amount of length. \u201cShe really leaned in! But it was still a shock,\u201d the hair pro shares.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old actress had to go chin-length \u2014 losing about nine inches of hair \u2014 so they landed on a flirty bob style. Rozenberg started by razoring the whole perimeter \u201cto give it softness and movement,\u201d he says, then went back in to give the cut shape. The result: an airy, chic style with lots of energy and versatility, which we\u2019re dubbing the \u2018Italian Riviera Bob,\u2019 a look that\u2019s less precise than the \u2018C*nty Little Bob,\u2019 airier than the \u2018Ripped Bob\u2019<\/a> and even lighter and less structured than the classic \u2018Italian Bob.\u2019 It\u2019s the perfect look for a sexy summer.<\/p>\n

Summer’s Hottest Haircut, as Seen on Ella Hunt<\/h2>\n

It may just be the summer of the bob, and Rozenberg is no stranger to the genre. He recently cut bob styles on Lily Collins, Chloe Grace Moretz and White Lotus<\/i> star Carrie Coon.<\/p>\n

Bob Style Tips<\/h2>\n

For Hunt\u2019s transformation, before he did the haircut, he shampooed and conditioned with\u00a0 <\/span>Biologe Volume Boost<\/a> to coax body. Once the shape was perfected, he ran Biologe Curl Defining Elixir<\/a> throughout damp locks\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cto get a little hold and shine with no frizz.\u201d A quick blow dry using a diffuser<\/a> \u2014 the Airlight Pro<\/a> \u2014 and the transformation was complete.<\/p>\n

The look has major versatility. It can be brushed back and slicked behind the ears. Rozenberg recommends a dab of oil and a spritz of Biologe Complete Control Hairspray<\/a> for this. Or it can be parted in the center. But the side part \u201cbest shows off the layers,\u201d says the pro.<\/p>\n

While bob styles are certainly the look of the season, Rozenberg offers one caveat. \u201cConsider the length of your neck. If you have a shorter neck and a rounder face shape, a lob may be more
