When it comes to attraction<\/a>, looks aren’t everything\u2014but they can certainly make a difference. While beauty is subjective, some physical features can be a major turn-off for women<\/a>. Facial hair is one of those traits, according to an IFOP study shared by Marie France<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What Physical Trait in Men Turns Is a Major Turn-off for Women?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Beards tend to be divisive<\/a>. According to the study, 50% of French women surveyed have pogonophobia\u2014an actual fear of facial hair. Meanwhile, 45% appreciate a man with a beard, but they\u2019re choosy about the style! The most favored is the three-day stubble<\/a>, with 33% of women finding it attractive. In contrast, 5% are drawn to mustaches, goatees, or soul patches, and only 4% to ten-day beards.<\/p>\n

Long beards, however, are a unanimous no-go for French women. They\u2019re seen as unattractive and require more upkeep. Interestingly, the same IFOP report shows that most men choose a three-day beard\u2014favored by 24% of French men\u2014because it’s low-maintenance.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, taste is subjective, and everyone can style their beard however they prefer.<\/p>\n

How to Properly Maintain Your Beard<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To keep a beard looking sharp, adopt a few essential grooming habits<\/a>. First, wash it daily with a beard-specific shampoo to remove dirt and excess oil. Hydration is vital\u2014use beard oil or balm to nourish the hair and soothe the skin. Regular brushing tames hairs and prevents tangles. Lastly, frequent trimming helps maintain shape and remove split ends. A well-groomed beard reflects care and sophistication.<\/p>\n
