Following the widely celebrated partnership with Fendi and Versace – aptly titled “Fendace” – at Milan Fashion Week last month, it seems Kim Jones is in the business of collaborations. His latest? A rumored collection with Kim Kardashian’s shape wear brand, Skims. On Instagram Stories, a personal shopper for Selfridges leaked images of a series of body-con dresses with co-branding emblazoned in knitted detail.

The images published by @connie_personal_shopping were swiftly taken down but you can still see them on Reddit. Captions from the social media post suggests the capsule will release from November.

It’s not the first time these rumors have surfaced either. Kardashian took a seemingly impromptu trip to Rome earlier this year. Eagled-eyed fans noticed she attended the Fendi headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana several times during her visit, suggesting some sort of partnership was in the works.

The brand alignment comes as no surprise, however. Jones has an affinity for collaborations as made apparent during his role as artistic director for Dior Men. Some of his most successful partnerships include artists KAWS and Daniel Arsham. For Spring/Summer 2022 he enlisted the support of Travis Scott. Jones took over the helm of Fendi womens and couture in 2020.

The Italian fashion house has been privy to A-lister collaborations in the past. The late Karl Lagerfeld partnered with Nicki Minaj in 2019 for a collection featuring ready-to-wear and accessories.

As for Skims, the brand partnered with Team USA for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where undergarments and pyjamas were supplied for the athletes.

The lingerie giant has come a long way since its 2018 launch. The brand has expanded from shape wear and underwear to plush loungewear and sleek basics. The new sleepwear range which was released on October 15 also stars keyhole pyjama dresses that could also double as a date night dress.

Stay tuned for further developments.
