Leave it to the legendary Pat McGrath to make us lose our collective minds over one of the most controversial beauty trends in existence – the razored eyebrow slit.
It was a look that David Beckham championed in the ’90s – a tiny slice towards the end of the brow. And now at Miucci Prada’s Miu Miu SS21 show, it was back – but this time worn by the likes of Lila Grace Moss and Aliet Sarah. We’re unsure if the model’s brows were actually shaved or not. Maybe it’s just the work of clever makeup, but it wouldn’t be the first time a model brow has been altered backstage at fashion week.
The rest of the look was textbook McGrath: ethereal skin, luminous highlight, mirror-like gloss and softly-lit lids.
Hair was the work of Guido Palau – a beautiful mix of strong part lines, wet-look gel, slick pony tails and shiny crops.
The show itself was inspired by the idea of a sports area, a “simultaneously physical and digital” fashion experience. Maybe the razored brow and slick hair was a nod to iconic ’90s athletes like Beckham?
Either way, whatever Pat McGrath does, the world copies.
