It’s true. We raised eyebrows when in a Architectural Digest spread, Kim Kardashian revealed her immaculate family home; a beige and brutalist aesthetic with oodles of white marble and textiles. The little color in the house is in the children’s playroom and even then, it has been meticulously designed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful. But it turns out however that North West is not exactly a fan.
In the first episode of Ellen Digital‘s new series, Mom Confessions, Kardashian revealed that when she’s arguing with her eldest daughter, West tends to hurl insults about the house décor first.
“Every time I get into some kind of disagreement with my daughter North, she thinks this is a dig to me and she’ll say, ‘Your house is so ugly. It’s all white. Who lives like this?'” Kardashian recalled. “She just thinks it gets to me and it is kind of mean because I like my house.”
The $60 million USD Hidden Hills home was designed in collaboration with her then husband, Kanye West. Today it was also confirmed that Kardashian would get the family home in a divorce settlement with the rapper.
It seems West has a bit of an attitude on her and we love it. In May, the eight-year-old caught Kardashian in a lie when she was opening a PR package from Olivia Rodrigo.
In the interview Kardashian added that her biggest parenting fail (which also feels extremely relatable, believe it or not) is being able to be bought by her children. “My biggest parenting fail is I give in too easily sometimes and bribes,” she confessed. “I’m guilty of a good bribe.”
She also added, “I really try not to lie to my kids. I was doing that at the beginning to try to get them out of the house or to try to go into a playdate or things like that, and I just realised quickly it wasn’t going to work for me and I’d rather be honest with my kids.”
Kardashian and her ex-husband share four children, North, Psalm, Chicago and Saint.
