Fashion is more than just clothes, glamorous editorial shoots and runway shows—it’s also about giving back, and using your platform as an agent for change. And that’s exactly what happened this past Monday. The premier American designer, Michael Kors co-chaired and hosted the 15th iteration of the Golden Heart Awards, a charitable gala in support of the amazing work of the NYC-based food and nutrition profit, God’s Love We Deliver. Kors, a longtime supporter of the charitable organization, has committed his platform to several philanthropic causes surrounding world hunger. Stars like Naomi Watts, Tommy Dorfman Rachel Brosnahan, Rose Byrne, Don lemon and Clive Davis also all came out Monday to celebrate the amazing work of God’s Love We Deliver.

It was a night of celebration and giving back, with auctions of art—including an original piece by art director Eric Haze—and a special night out at the theater with Kors and Anna Wintour. Actor Alan Cumming hosted the night, a night full of NYC at it’s best, from an NYC-themed cocktail hour, to a offering of some of NYC’s best eateries—in partnership with Vox’s food and dining platform, Eater. Broadway titan and Pose star, Billy Porter received the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service, while CNN anchor Don Lemon, received the award for Achievement in Broadcasting. The Golden Heart Awards serves as a model of how the strengths and resources of the private and public sectors combine to support God’s Love We Deliver in their critical work. The NYC-based food and nutrition profit—which has been cooking and home-delivering medically tailored meals to individuals living with severe and chronic illness since 1985—continues to grow during the pandemic. The organization has not missed a single delivery during COVID-19, ensuring that everyone who needs help has access to nutritious meals delivered right to their door.
