It’s been a busy week or so for Kourtney Kardashian, but in reality, she doesn’t seem to be paying the drama with ex Scott Disick any mind at all. I think she’s more focused on the task at hand, which is stunning our Instagram feeds with a bold and edgy look while she vacations in Italy with boyfriend Travis Barker. The eldest Kardashian daughter posted a series of photos recapping her Italian trip, but a certain red Dolce and Gabbana corset caught our eyes.
Posing in front of a holy family Renaissance painting, Kardashian wore a strappy Dolce & Gabbana corset (retails for $3,395, and is currently sold out), comprised entirely of intricate knots and strings reminiscent bondage or fetish gear — which very often makes its way into high fashion silhouettes. Kardashian paired the corset with a pair of black opera-length gloves. The bottom of the outfit is not shown in pictures, but then again, I’m not sure we’d be able to post it if it was.
What’s really stunning in this outfit is just how well her new bob hairstyle works with it. The sleekness and neatness of the bob doesn’t crowd up the space where the corset shines, leaving plenty of room for each portion of the style to have its moment.
A trend that we’ve been seeing with Kardashian, since she’s started dating Barker, is her style has ever-so shifted away from the daresay Kardashian blueprint into something a little more edgy.
Outfits such as this latex number display that Kardashian isn’t afraid to have a little fun with and embrace her inner teenage goth that loves The Craft a little too much. But just because Barker has his signature alternative display does not mean it’s a direct influence on Kardashian’s, she’s allowed to have her own style after all. Maybe, with dating him, she finally feels able to express herself in this fun, new and alternative way, and we’re loving it.
