Elle Woods would have been proud. Kim Kardashian took to social media today to share a number of bikini pics showing her studying her ongoing law degree in the sun. With a laptop, textbook, and flashcards strewn over a table, the reality star wore a teeny string bikini, sunglasses, and a Gucci headscarf.

“What law school is this??? Asking for a friend? LOL,” her friend Jonathan Cheban commented.

I only wish I could have looked that chic as a broke university student. In the famous words of Woods I can imagine the Kardashian quipping, “What, like it’s hard?”

In April 2019, Kardashian revealed to Vogue that she had begun a four-year apprenticeship with a firm in San Francisco. She hopes to take the bar in 2022. In California, there are pathways to taking the bar that don’t require attending law school by “reading the law.”

In addition to her studies, the beauty mogul runs KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance, and SKIMS while she also navigates her divorce from Kanye West. Speaking to WWD earlier this month, Kardashian revealed she wouldn’t begin a new venture until she had obtained a license to practice law.

“I want to finish that, before I connect with something else,” she said.

Kardashian is working toward criminal justice reform. Thus far she has freed three inmates from prison, Alice Johnson, Momolu Stewart, and Kevin Keith. In addition, the celebrity signed an exclusive podcast deal wth Spotify in June 2020 that will cover her work to exonerate wrongfully condemned individuals from America’s prison system.

Speaking on her reasoning behind becoming a law student, Kardashian has said in the past, “My evolution on this is probably some combination of growing up, getting married, having kids, and my life being so different than what it was when I was starting out. Now, I feel like I have a duty to myself and to my children more than the public and I want to be a good role model for my kids.”
