Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s first boy, Saint West, managed to find a pair of scissors in the couple’s Calabasas mansion and proceed to cut off his beautiful long locks, just in time for the new school year.

On her Instagram Story, Kardashian shared some smiling photos of Saint with his new hairstyle, joking that, thankfully, her boy “still looks cute tho.” In the images, Kardashian shows a lump of locks of Saint’s hair beside the pair of red kid’s scissors that did the deed, before circling the missing patch of hair on top of his head. In the third photo, Saint is smiling widely, clearly pleased with himself – and as someone who also cut my hair off at age five, but, unlike Saint, went the full mile and had to start school with a half-mullet, half-bob, half-shaved scenario, I can attest that Saint actually did a pretty darn good job here.

In December, Saint celebrated his fifth birthday during another controversial COVID Kardashian family holiday in Lake Tahoe. On the day, Kardashian West wished her second child a happy birthday on Instagram, writing, “One of my life’s soul mates. Every year I interview my kids and ask them the same exact questions about life. Saint- I can’t wait to see how you’ve grown and how you answers [sic] these questions as a 5 year old and show them to you when you’re big.”

Kardashian and West are reportedly spending time apart at the moment, following on from West’s public bipolar episode earlier this year and reported refusal to medicate. “Kim and Kanye are doing their own thing,” a source told E! News a couple of weeks ago, saying the parents are each “focused on the things that are important to them.” The couple “very much live separate lives” according to another source who spoke with People. “Their lives don’t overlap much.” But despite (or perhaps because of) all that time spent apart pursuing their individual interests, “Kim seems happy” and is “very focused on work and causes,” the source added. “She strongly believes she can make a change when it comes to prison reform. This is her passion. Her family is very proud of her.”
