This year is off with a bang for Emily Ratajkowski, who is not only giving birth to her first child with husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, but also releasing her first book.

After penning a successful selection of essays last year, the model and activist announced on Instagram that she’s written an entire book filled with them, named My Body.

This is the cover of MY BOOK!” the 29-year-old shared with her 27 million followers. “I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to share something before.”

On Amazon, where My Body is now available to pre-order ahead of its October release, the book is described as, “A deeply honest investigation of what it means to be a woman.”

“My Body is a profoundly personal exploration of feminism, sexuality, and power, of men’s treatment of women and women’s rationalizations for accepting that treatment,” the synopsis reads. “These essays chronicle moments from Ratajkowski’s life while investigating the culture’s fetishisation of girls and female beauty, its obsession with and contempt for women’s sexuality, the perverse dynamics of the fashion and film industries, and the grey area between consent and abuse.”

Given one of Ratajkowski’s essays, Buying Myself Back, became The Cut‘s most-read story of 2020, we’d say this book is bound to be a runaway success. In said essay, the model alleges she was sexually assaulted by photographer Jonathan Leder during a photoshoot at his New York home in 2012.
