In a turn of events that sparks questions amongst fans, Britney Spears has seemingly made a return to Instagram. This comes after the singer seemingly deleted her own account overnight, with no official statement regarding why. At the time, fans chocked it up to wanting privacy and time away from the public eye after getting engaged to long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari. While that may be true, her comeback to the ‘gram yesterday is raising some eyebrows amongst those who are familiar with her content.

The first photos Spears posted after her hiatus put her on vacation with Asghari in Palm Springs, with the caption “Some shots from my weekend getaway to celebrate my engagement with my … holy sh*t … FIANCÉ … I still can’t believe it !!!! I couldn’t stay away from the gram too long so I’m back already !!!! Psss I took these in Palm Springs with clip in extensions!!!!!”

The speculation comes from the fact that the selfies in this post are eerily similar to pictures from February of this year, take a look for yourself.

You can see that Spears is wearing the exact same dress in both pictures, dated eight months apart. Not only is she wearing the same dress, but the same necklace, makeup, hair and black and white filter. Of course, this is just speculation for now, but it begs the question, why would she post a photo claiming to be on vacation when there’s picture evidence that the photo is eight months old?

Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, said in a statement regarding Spears’ hiatus from Instagram that ““She’s happy and in a great place and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message. This was her decision.” While that may be true, did she make the decision to return?

The singer also posted a video of her dancing, which is nothing out of the usual, but what raises suspicion is the fact that she wrote in the caption “This was shot in July !!!! Remember Bad Guy ???? Well this is part 3 …. no … not same dance !!! Different moves  !!!”

If Spears is making the autonomous decision to post her own content, why would she be posting videos from July, almost three months ago at this point? Again, it could just be coincidence that makes for a compelling narrative, given everything that’s happened with Spears’ conservatorship over the past year. Regardless, fans are skeptical, really skeptical.
