It’s the most wonderful time of the year! One characterized by pudding and reindeer and the smell of fresh pine. It’s also a time to put your feet up and watch a Christmas flick (with a glass of Baileys and eggnog, should you fancy). Warm and fuzzy festive feels aside, there’s also a great amount of holiday beauty inspiration to be found, from lashes to lipstick, buns to Botox. Who could forget the time Luther Krank got Botox and spilled fruit cocktail all down the front of his pants because he no longer had control of his facial muscles? It was a beauty blunder of the biggest kind, only made worse by the hyper-orange glow of his skin following a few sessions in the solarium. Serves him right for trying to skip Christmas for a cruise anyway. Thank goodness Blair came home, right?
The perfect blow dry. The 90s makeup. There’s a lot to love about Leigh Zimmerman as a fashion model in Home Alone 2. The look on her face though is because she had just endured an attempted handbag robbery by Marv – one half of the bumbling crime duo The Sticky Bandits. A fleeting beauty movie moment, but a moment none the less.
Emilia Clarke plays Kate in the recently released Last Christmas, and despite her sometimes Grinchy attitude, still managed to pull off a festive red lip in the most merry of ways. Bonus points for the tinsel halo.
Kiera Knightley is our always beauty muse, but her Juliet in Love Actually is without a doubt one of her finest moments. From the English rose complexion to the 90s face-framing strands, she’s simply perfect.

And let’s not ignore the masterpiece that is Knightley as a bride. Complete with a poppy coral lip and feathers in her hair, she truly is a Christmas vision in white.
If there’s one place we want to live, it’s in a Nancy Meyers movie, specifically the Cotswold cottage Iris called home in The Holiday. Played by Kate Winslet, Iris was a picture of English countryside charm: soft curls, rose lips and a permanent peachy flush.
And then there’s Amanda (played by Cameron Diaz). The Los Angeles native can’t cry in the film; a trait we see as a plus given her generous application of mascara. Ever the perfectionist and not one to cut corners, she’s just as polished and put together as you’d hope. And you’re almost certainly lying if you said that blonde bob hasn’t served as a hair reference at least once in your life.
There’s few Christmas characters that rival the glamour that is Martha May Whovier in How The Grinch Stole Christmas. From elaborate up-dos to larger-than-life lashes, we have nothing but respect for her commitment to festive dressing. Perhaps the only competitor is the Queen of Christmas, Mariah herself.
