Creating new and original objects in a saturated fashion space is an almost impossible feat nowadays. But apparently, not for TOD\u2019S creative director, Walter Chiapponi. After taking the reins of the Italian fashion house in 2019 (after a stint at Gucci and Valentino), the designer has continued his quest for new iterations of style through the new TOD\u2019S Fall\/Winter 21\/22 men\u2019s and women\u2019s collections. Pushing design further through the merging of archetypes.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s collection is an exploration of the collision of natural and urban life. Pitting freedom and a cosmopolitan lifestyle against one another in the creation of garments worthy of the modern Italian gentleman.<\/p>\n

#sevenT is the film that will reveal the men\u2019s collection launching in September, titled in a nod of the seven days of the week. In the film, TOD\u2019S brings a laser focus to wardrobe staples; the trench coat, the shirt jacket, the hunting jacket and the field jacket as well as riding pants, sweatshirts and ribbed sweaters. Formality is contradicted through unexpected combinations, more befitting of modern times which sees us dipping in and out of lockdowns and busy lifestyles.<\/p>\n

This collection encourages the wearer to play with bold pieces; ankle boots with a Texan heel, robust lace-ups with Norwegian stitching. Sneakers and desert boots abound. The \u201cT\u201d logo recurs throughout, on belts, loafers and bags. T is for \u201ctime\u201d and the expansion of possibilities.<\/p>\n

TOD\u2019S brings the same play on the concept of time to the women\u2019s collection. In a film entitled \u201cIn a Moment,\u201d<\/a> four women represent different personalities which combine in the fall\/winter collection.<\/p>\n

Sportswear is mixed with the appeal of couture, always maintaining a focus on function and utility. Luxurious materials are combined with classic silhouettes. Trench coats with leather trimmings, sheepskin hats and quilted leather duvet jackets, as well as ruffled necklines create unexpected pairings within classic materials.<\/p>\n

Contrary to the micro-bag trend which swept the world earlier, TOD\u2019S has introduced oversized bags made of sheepskin and leather in wide, curving shapes and zesty colours. Women can now explore the more \u201cextra\u201d side of their shoe repertoire. Chunky-heeled loafers with creeper soles tick every box in the footwear department. As always, the letter T adorns each piece as an attest to the timelessness of the design.<\/p>\n

Best of all, with fine tailoring and exquisite design common to both, the women\u2019s and men\u2019s collections are interchangeable. The collection will launch from September. Shop the current styles, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
