For 75 years, the Cannes Film Festival has been the romantic intersection between movie stars, directors and cinema excellence. The red carpet sees the most beautiful women in the world showcase couture so intricate, it makes more headlines than the films themselves. Finally, after the year that was (or wasn’t?) life returned to Palais des Festivals et des Congr\u00e8s in France as well-dressed paparazzi and journalists covered the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0a week in Paris for fashion week, Bella Hadid<\/a> descended into the coastal city to make a red carpet appearance ahead of the Annette <\/em>premiere. In an ode to old Hollywood glamour – a fitting tribute – Hadid sported a slick twisted bun, smokey eye courtesy of Dior Makeup and jewellery supplied by Chopard; a pair of earrings in 18ct white Fairmined-certified gold from the Red Carpet Collection along with two rings crafted in 18ct white Fairmined-certified gold, both from the Haute Joaillerie Collection.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old wore a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier column gown featuring a black chiffon halter-neck, structured white bodice and a sweeping train hemmed with black tassels. The piece was pulled from the Spring \/ Summer 2002 Haute Couture collection which was originally modelled by Naomi Campbell.<\/p>\n

Following the premiere, the model took to Instagram to fan girl over\u00a0Parasite\u00a0<\/em>director, Bong Joon Ho.<\/p>\n

“The way I wanted to just hug Bong Joon Ho and appreciate him in all of his glory on the red carpet tonight!!!!! I should have just done it,” Hadid wrote on Instagram stories. “What a legend. I feel honoured to be on the same floor as him.”<\/p>\n

According to Variety<\/a>, <\/em>in an attempt to be as COVID safe as possible, all attendees to the festival who are not fully vaccinated are required to submit a negative test result at the onsite testing labs.<\/p>\n
