Over the years, Marc Jacobs has marked the grand finale of New York Fashion<\/a> Week\u2019s final slot. With over a year off the runway,<\/a> the designer is officially back and decided to showcase a full-fledged fashion show filled with nothing but excitement and good energy. The show took place on Monday night at the New York<\/a> Public library on fifth avenue.<\/p>\n

The models strutted down the runway in a series of flared, baggy pants and went into many oversized coat that trailed the marble floors. Toward the end of the show, the models began to bare more skin but still maintained a mainly covered look. We saw a variety of neutrals to bold hues, face masks in the form of puffers and a wide selection of knitwear<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When sharing his notes before the show, Jacobs stated, \u201cOur decision to pause allowed us to slow down. To reflect, ruminate, reevaluate, grieve, and take a thorough inventory of what works, what doesn\u2019t work, what we love, what we are willing to let go of, and what has value, importance, and meaning.\u201d<\/p>\n

When looking back at Jacob\u2019s fashion history, it felt as if there was a sense of movement within each piece, which may have been why all the looks were photographed to the side, not head-on. The collection felt as if there was a wide selection of over-saturated designs, some filled with skin and others without, but what we did take away from the collection is that knitwear, platforms and puffer jackets are staying strong for fall 2021.<\/p>\n
