There is always a buzz in the city as Dubai Fashion Week gets underway \u2013 and this season, we marked the moment in style. To celebrate the opening of Dubai Fashion Week SS27<\/a>, GRAZIA hosted a lunch in partnership with Damiani, the celebrated Italian jewellery Maison, bringing together 50 key names from across the region\u2019s fashion community.<\/p>\n

Held in the Royal Penthouse at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, the afternoon was hosted by GRAZIA Editor Olivia Morris, with Alessandra Damiani \u2013 wife of Guido Damiani, Executive President of Damiani Group \u2013 in attendance to welcome guests on behalf of the house.<\/p>\n

Welcoming guests, Olivia spoke about GRAZIA\u2019s long-held belief in celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and the incredible fashion talent in the region \u2013 and about what makes Dubai so special. \u201cWhether Emirati, Palestinian, Italian or from anywhere else in the world, there\u2019s something quite unique about the way this city brings people together through fashion and creativity,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Alessandra Damiani then took the floor to say a few words on behalf of the house. Speaking warmly about what it means to call Dubai home alongside her husband and their family, Alessandra reflected on the heritage of the house, built across generations since 1924, and on the Maison’s enduring love for the region \u2013 a connection that made celebrating the opening of Dubai Fashion Week here feel all the more meaningful.<\/p>\n

It was also a milestone moment for the region\u2019s fashion industry, as the lunch marked Amina Taher\u2019s first official event as Chairwoman of the Arab Fashion Council, just weeks after her appointment. Introduced by Olivia as someone helping to shape the next chapter of fashion in the region, Amina addressed guests as the council \u2013 which founded Dubai Fashion Week alongside Dubai Design District \u2013 ushers in a new season. As Olivia put it, it\u2019s \u201can exciting new chapter for the region\u2019s fashion industry, and one we\u2019re very much looking forward to supporting at GRAZIA.”<\/p>\n

Founded in Valenza in 1924, Damiani has spent more than a century perfecting the art of Italian jewellery-making. Rooted in family heritage, the Maison has built its legacy on master craftsmanship, bold design and a deep love of precious stones \u2013 and it has long held the Middle East close to its heart. Dubai in particular, a city that shares the house\u2019s appreciation for artistry, colour and celebration, has become a natural home for Damiani in the region, making the opening of Dubai Fashion Week the perfect moment to come together.<\/p>\n

Throughout the afternoon, guests were invited to discover pieces from the Mimosa and Margherita collections, both rooted in the Maison\u2019s love of nature and its signature floral motifs. Alongside them sat a select edit of high jewellery creations and timepieces, offering an up-close look at the savoir-faire that has defined the house for generations.<\/p>\n

Beyond the jewels, the lunch was an afternoon of networking and genuine conversation. Designers from across the region mingled with industry leaders, tastemakers and friends of GRAZIA, swapping stories and ideas over lunch as the city prepared for the week of shows ahead.<\/p>\n

It was a gathering that captured exactly what makes Dubai such a compelling fashion capital. Here, cultures and creativity meet, and people from all walks of life share the same table \u2013 internationally renowned Maisons like Damiani sit alongside the emerging designers championed by Dubai Fashion Week and the Arab Fashion Council. It\u2019s that mix of heritage and new voices, of global names and homegrown talent, that continues to shape the region\u2019s creative future \u2013 and that GRAZIA is proud to bring together.<\/p>\n
