The City of Light is ready for the spotlight. Amidst all the talk of luxury fashion\u2019s slowdown, Paris Fashion Week still holds an exalted place on the style calendar, and each season is a reminder of why. Its combination of buzzy new voices and heritage heavyweights manages to cut through the noise like nowhere else\u2014and Spring\/Summer 2027 is proving to be a dazzling season of glitter, gold, and airiness.<\/p>\n

At Dior, Jonathan Anderson staged a show where air was treated as a material language, bringing lightness and ease to familiar codes. As stars like Blackpink\u2019s Jisoo and Rihanna watched on, Anderson reinterpreted his very own Dior signatures in weightless materials like silk mousseline, Chantilly lace, and translucent gauze. Later that same day, Anthony Vaccarello staged an emotionally charged show amongst swirling rumours of his imminent departure from Saint Laurent. On a runway backlit by the Eiffel Tower, his latest collection was a shimmering parade of solid gold brocade and lam\u00e9, broken up only by classic Saint Laurent black.<\/p>\n

Later in the week, we can expect shows from the who\u2019s who of French fashion\u2014Matthieu Blazy at Chanel, Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re at Louis Vuitton\u2014as well as more inventive takes on the craft from names like Acne Studios and Loewe. Below, see our highlights of the Paris Fashion Week Spring\/Summer 2027 runways.<\/p>\n

Loewe<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an old-world\u2014new-world conversation,\u201d said Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of their latest collection for Loewe<\/a>. The old world in question refers to the 170-year heritage of Loewe\u2014encompassing the mastery of leather, Baroque drama, and sun-baked, Spanish ease. For Spring\/Summer 2027, the pair explored this weighty legacy through ruffled skirts, draped dresses, and a saturated palette of bright oranges and yellows. Meanwhile, the voice of the new world was equally as distinct. Hernandez and McCollough\u2019s New England youth made itself known through preppy influences, sleek boat shoes, and breezy knits that gave the collection a sporty ease. \u201cWhat we\u2019re putting forward here is a proposition for dressing,\u201d the pair wrote. \u201cThe ease of American pragmatism, and nods to Spanish drama, ritual, history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schiaparelli<\/h3>\n

The key challenge for Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry this season was articulating a raison d\u2019\u00eatre<\/em> for the maison\u2019s ready-to-wear\u2014and to move beyond buzzwords and jargon, the designer returned to the very building blocks of their Haute Couture. \u201cWe get so hung up on these empty buzz phrases that we can forget what the real point and attraction of ready-to-wear is,\u201d he wrote in his collection notes. \u201cDistillation. Essence. The power of consistency in a world in which reliable, clear messages seem to be in short supply.\u201d<\/p>\n

The message was indeed clear and simple: go back to the basics. The result was a classically Schiaparelli collection of tailored black separates, sensual silhouettes, and witty house codes. A series of little black cocktail dresses gave us the maison\u2019s take on \u201crevenge dressing\u201d, while eight versions of the iconic \u201cSchiap jacket\u201d brought a sense of structure. Though the palette was pared-down\u2014rarely straying from white, buttery beige, or black\u2014a sense of playfulness arose through asymmetrical ruffles, sheer knitwear, and intricate vegetal embroidery. \u201cThe ruffles are inspired by the curtains that lined the windows of the Place Vend\u00f4me atelier during Elsa Schiaparelli\u2019s time,\u201d explained Roseberry\u2019s collection notes.<\/p>\n

Acne Studios<\/h3>\n

If Renaissance grunge wasn\u2019t already a thing, Acne Studios is making it one. The label\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2027 offering put historical dress codes through a grimy, sepia-toned filter, pairing them with faded denim and aged leather.<\/p>\n

The most obvious allusions to Romantic-era dressing came in puffy, duvet-like skirts bearing quaint floral and rinceau patterns\u2014but even these weren\u2019t shown in their natural form. They came cropped and twisted, often with faded edges that looked as though they had been dragged through muddy fields. Their intricate, porcelain-like patterns also migrated onto the collection\u2019s other primary medium: denim. Patterned jeans and jackets were shown with shining lacquer coatings and acid-washed treatments, bringing an edge of modernity <\/a>to the collection\u2019s more romantic impulses. The contrast was intended as a \u201ccounter-narrative\u201d, explained the show notes\u2014\u201cin which historical attire interacts with the most ubiquitous thing we wear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saint Laurent<\/h3>\n

It was all glitter and gold at Saint Laurent\u2019s<\/a> Spring\/Summer 2027 show\u2014and not only because of the immense chandelier dangling above the runway, or even the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower in the background. Creative director Anthony Vaccarello presented a collection that looked as though it had been carved from precious metals, with regal brocade suits shown alongside voluminous jackets in crinkly, reflective fabrics. Despite the ornate, stiff materials on offer, there was a typically Saint Laurent sensuality to the affair. Bronzed guipure lace offered peeks of bare skin underneath, while cropped and dropped-waist dresses brought ease to the season. It was an emotionally charged collection, coming amidst swirling speculation that Vaccarello\u2019s tenure at the maison is nearing its end. So when the collection neared its finale, and he finally deviated from his Midas palette for a series of dramatic black gowns in velvet and gauze, it felt as poignant a curtain call as any.<\/p>\n

Dior<\/h3>\n

Dior\u2019s set for Spring\/Summer 2027 gave us the first clue about Jonathan Anderson\u2019s vision for the season. The venue was the very same Bassin Octogonal where the maison found themselves for Fall\/Winter\u2014but now stripped of its lotuses and lilies, with a fine mist curling over the lake\u2019s surface. The collection gave Anderson\u2019s Dior signatures the same weightless treatment, asking what happens when the adornment falls away, and air itself becomes a material.<\/p>\n

If the show gave you a sense of d\u00e9ja vu, that was perhaps the point. It was a collection that avoided spectacle for spectacle\u2019s sake, deliberately taking a second look at familiar codes. Asymmetrical, gathered skirts; cropped Bar jackets; dropped-waist dresses in swingy chiffon\u2014all offerings we\u2019ve seen before from Anderson\u2019s Dior, but now rendered in translucent, barely-there construction. Hems rippled in the breeze, and previously sturdy garments felt light as air. The effect moved Anderson\u2019s whimsical, feminine take on Dior into uncharted territory, where the maison\u2019s classic codes<\/a> felt a little more sensual and undone.<\/p>\n

chanel<\/h3>\n

A year after his debut, Matthieu Blazy continues to create looks that dominate the runway. Turning once again to the Maison’s historic founder Gabrielle Chanel as its muse, with the collection moving between a young Chanel and the woman she will eventually become. Shifting from an ensemble of jersey underwear to the rejection of restrictive Edwardian dress to the suit that would become synonymous with the icon. The lines between masculinity and femininity continue to blur, with recurring motifs across buttons, jewellery and embroidery in sequined 1930’s styled gowns and beaded pieces with almost a T-shirt like ease. In his notes Matthieu Blazy describes the collection as being about Gabrielle Chanel’s layered stories rather than presenting a historic recreation. Giving ode to an icon who birthed a fashion empire – and set the tone of the industry for the decades that followed.<\/p>\n

Tom ford<\/h3>\n

The need to feel seen, and the risk that comes with it, is an emotion familiar to most of us – one that Tom Ford brings to life. In a provocative runway, the Maison’s collection embodies our greatest desire – the freedom of self-expression. Harnessing the intimacy of revealing your entire being without offering it. In a gesture that feels spontaneous and perilous at once. The Maison brings together a contrasting array of sheer and thick fabrics, cut at the seams to project the liberation of exposing one’s true self. Following consistent palettes of black, white, blue and red, so that the silhouettes take the spotlight. The collection makes a clear statement – intimacy does not have to be loud to exist. It can be silent, powerful and unspoken. At times appearing as fragile and at others showcasing freedom as a form of decadence.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
