With a PhD in Chemical Engineering and over 10 years of experience in cutting-edge biochemical developments, Dr Jawaher AlYammahi is a leading researcher and associate at NYU Abu Dhabi. She has previously been recognised as an MIT Technology Review Innovator under 35<\/span> for her groundbreaking work in sustainable food technologies.<\/p>\n

AlYammahi proves Emirati women are crucial to the future, driving scientific innovation, sustainability and food security for the nation.<\/p>\n

Fatima Al-Mazrouei<\/h3>\n

Novelist, poet, researcher – Fatima Al-Mazrouei is a master of her trade. The artist graduated from the American University of Sharjah with a degree in interior design and followed the achievement by founding Sorbe Studios, a multidisciplinary design house in Dubai. The extension of her talents has made her a primary example of what it means to be an Emirati creative – cultural, versatile and contemporary. One where women can work out comfortably and in style – and at the forefront of this concept is Aisha Abdulaziz, co-founder of Sculpwear. The entrepreneur has always held a fondness for fashion, having worked in her aunt’s business at the young age of 15 as a content creator. A move which sparked her original interest in fashion, before she began her dedicated journey to fitness and lifestyle at the age of 19. Once she discovered this passion, she soon realised that nothing was ever the right fit – and sought to make a change. Now, she’s founded one of the largest gym wear brands in the country – with a core ethos of ensuring women feel empowered, confident and can perform their best.<\/p>\n

Maitha Hamdan<\/h3>\n

Maitha Hamdan is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans beyond the restrictions of a canvas and into various mediums. Frequently creating performance and art installations, her work is largely centred within the exploration of fabric and textiles. These are often used to examine themes of social boundaries, understanding religion and narrative storytelling. The artist is a graduate fellow of the prestigious Salama Emerging Artists Fellowship Program (SEAF Cohort 7) by the Sheikha Salama Bint Hamdan Foundation and is currently a creative consultant at Playground Studio.<\/p>\n

Fatima Alketbi<\/h3>\n

The most meaningful forms of art come with a strong narrative, as shown by Emirati calligraphy artist Fatima Alketbi. The artist seamlessly integrates her heritage within her work, with inspiration varying from poetry to casual conversations with her family. Working with intent, she creates calligraphy through an innovative lens to showcase the richness of her culture to the modern world.
