The 15th anniversary of\u00a0The Devil Wears Prada<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is the gift that keeps on giving. This week the cast joined for a virtual reunion via\u00a0Entertainment Weekly.<\/em> The author of the original book, Lauren Weisberger, revealed there have been “conversations” on a television spin-off or sequel. No really, this is groundbreaking.<\/p>\n

“There have been a lot of conversations about it,” Weisberger said. “I wouldn’t say it’s out of the realm of possibility.”<\/p>\n

Fans of the book would recall that following the events in the film, Andy (played by Anne Hathaway) and Emily (Emily Blunt) go on to launch their own magazine. This of course would form the perfect premise for a sequel of sorts.<\/p>\n

The film’s director, David Frankel, said that early on the studio was not on board for a sequel.<\/p>\n

“[The studio] didn’t ask for [a sequel]. We had a meeting where we said, “What could we do if there was a sequel?” Maybe it was stupid; we felt like, No, this story has been told… Lauren eventually wrote another book following up 15 years later.”<\/p>\n

“We came to the same conclusion, that just following the characters wouldn’t be the same.”<\/p>\n

Following two more books from Weisberger, never say never. Projects such as the\u00a0Friends\u00a0<\/em>reunion<\/a> and the Sex and the City\u00a0<\/em>reboot<\/a> prove that nostalgia is big business in Hollywood. So at this point, anything is possible.<\/p>\n
