In a country blessed by year-round sunshine, it\u2019s vital to own a stylish wardrobe to take you from beach to brunch to bedtime. But Dubai-based sisters Cyrielle and Charlotte Verstuyft believe their hunger for fashionable, high-quality swimwear has not been satisfied by current offerings in the Middle East, and so\u00a0they have taken it upon themselves to launch Cocobum, an exclusive online luxury swimwear boutique crammed full of vibrant and colourful collections.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived in Dubai for three years and found it so hard to find a choice of on-trend swimwear. I believe every woman deserves to enjoy her time in the sun in a flawless piece that complements her natural beauty and style,\u201d former fashion-degree student, Cyrielle explains.<\/p>\n

We met the duo at their stunning – and permanent – poolside showroom in Jumeirah. Here, Cocobum welcomes clients to touch, feel and try on the collections in an on-point summer setting (we\u2019re talking outdoor pool, palm trees and a pink flower wall to take photos in front of) prior to purchase. Dreamy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere’s something for everyone,\u201d Charlotte insists. \u201cWe stock revealing pieces as well as covered-up clothes. We\u2019re so pleased as now all our favourite brands are in one place.\u201d So, how was the name Cocobum born? \u201cMy name is Cyrielle, but here, people mistakenly pronounce it cereal,\u201d Cyrielle laughs. \u201cA nickname of Coco was born, from Coco-Pops. Then I thought of beach-related words, and Cocobum was born.\u201d<\/div>\n

“Even if it looks good, if it\u2019s not good quality, we won\u2019t buy it.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Another important factor for the sisters is delivery time. \u201cWhen I ordered anything to come to Dubai it could take weeks, and there would often be something wrong. Cocobum offers same-day delivery within the UAE,\u201d Cyrielle reveals proudly. And when it comes to quality, there is absolutely no compromise. \u201cEvery item of clothing fits perfectly and feels amazing, which means the price point for bikinis starts from Dhs367 and goes to Dhs1,470,\u201d Charlotte explains. \u201cEven if it looks good, if it\u2019s not good quality, we won\u2019t buy it.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n

While Cocobum\u2019s current categories include swimwear, resortwear, sunglasses, activewear and jewellery, Cyrielle and Charlotte have plenty more planned. \u201cWe\u2019d like to showcase shoes, and we are launching kidswear and may move into menswear too,\u201d they reveal. This passionate pair have got it all to play for.<\/div>\n
