Television\u2019s biggest night has once again delivered a red carpet swarming with A-list talent. On September 14, the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a> once again took over the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, transforming the institution into a glittering venue to celebrate this year\u2019s most talked-about shows and performances.<\/p>\n

From the brooding ensemble of Severance<\/em> and the buzzy newcomers The Pitt<\/em>, to critical darlings of The White Lotus<\/em><\/a>, the nominees brought fashion to the fore before a single statuette was handed out. Selena Gomez<\/a>, Hannah Einbinder and Quinta Brunson shone in Louis Vuitton<\/a>, while a slew of starlets\u2014including Leslie Bibb, Cate Blanchett<\/a>, Anna Sawai<\/a> and Kristen Bell<\/a>\u2014paid homage to Giorgio Armani. At the same time, Scarlett Johansson<\/a> appeared sun-kissed in Prada and Jenna Ortega<\/a> donned one of her most daring looks yet in Givenchy by Sarah Burton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t just a night simply for fashion, but also for making important statements. On the red carpet, actor Javier Bardem, who is known for his roles in Dune<\/em>, No Country for Old Men<\/em> and Skyfall<\/em>, wore a traditional Palestinian keffiyeh as a sign of solidarity against the ongoing Israeli bombardment against the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n

During an interview, Bardem declared he would not work with any companies that are in business or backed by Israel as he could not support any production company that “justifies or supports the genocide.”<\/p>\n

Hannah Einbinder, star of the HBO Max series Hacks<\/em>, also made a powerful statement while accepting her Emmy Award for best actress, where she made a direct call to “free Palestine”. Einbinder has been outspoken about the ongoing onslaught by Israeli forces, where she has condemned the country as “antithetical to our deepest Jewish traditions”.<\/p>\n

Comedian Megan Stalter, who also stars on Hacks<\/em>, wore a simple white T-shirt and jeans, with a “Ceasefire” message stuck to her bag, calling for the end of the Israeli bombardment on Gaza.<\/p>\n

Overall, it was a night of both fashion and important statements.<\/p>\n
