Few red carpets promise as much spectacle as the MTV Video Music Awards<\/a>. Held this year at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York, the 2025 ceremony wasted no time in cementing its reputation as one of music\u2019s most daring stages.<\/p>\n

While industry heavyweights such as Lady Gaga<\/a>, Doja Cat<\/a> and Mariah Carey<\/a> (this year\u2019s Vanguard Award recipient) prepared to dominate the spotlight inside, it was the parade of looks outside that first captured the world\u2019s gaze.<\/p>\n

Unlike the polish of Hollywood\u2019s more traditional awards, the VMAs thrive on provocation and sartorial risk. Over the decades, this very carpet has become synonymous with unforgettable fashion moments\u2014Lady Gaga\u2019s raw-meat couture and Aaliyah’s iconic Roberto Cavalli<\/a>, to name a few\u2014all cementing the night\u2019s reputation for rule-breaking glamour. And 2025 has been no exception.<\/p>\n

Stars arrived in a flurry of feathers, sequins, archival treasures, and theatrical silhouettes, each vying for their place in the VMAs fashion canon. From Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u2019s custom Valentino<\/a> to Tyla\u2019s<\/a> vintage Chanel<\/a> and Doja Cat\u2019s bombshell Balmain<\/a>, restraint was (thankfully) nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n
