Last week, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum<\/a>, the daughter of Dubai\u2019s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, officially announced her engagement to rapper French Montana. The couple shared a joint Instagram post featuring Sheikha Mahra\u2019s dazzling engagement ring,<\/a> which quickly went viral online.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes just months after the pair first confirmed their relationship, stepping out hand in hand during Paris Fashion Week. Rumours of their romance, however, had been circulating for over a year after they were spotted together exploring Dubai.<\/p>\n

Who is French Montana?<\/h2>\n

French Montana, born Karim Kharbouch in Morocco, moved to New York with his family at the age of 13. Raised by a single mother, he hustled his way into the music scene by selling CDs and working the underground rap circuit in the Bronx.
