In Windsor\u2019s manicured Great Park, Prince William<\/a> and Kate Middleton are reportedly preparing to set down some roots, leaving behind Adelaide Cottage<\/a>, the historic four-bedroom home they have resided in since 2022. Their new abode, Forest Lodge, is a sprawling eight-bedroom mansion that insiders are already calling their \u201cforever home.\u201d The move, however, has not been without its dramas.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/em> <\/a>alleges that two neighbouring families, tenants of the Crown Estate, were asked to vacate their residences earlier this season in anticipation of the royal family<\/a>\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were told to move out\u2026 they were not expecting it,\u201d one source said, noting that the families have since been relocated to \u201csimilar or better\u201d housing elsewhere in the area.<\/p>\n

The reasoning, according to another insider, was simple: \u201cThose houses are very close to the lodge, so they\u2019re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living there if there are going to be royals.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 300-year-old Forest Lodge, which is valued at an estimated $21 million, is a “considerable upgrade” from their current Adelaide Cottage, the outlet notes, reportedly featuring a “chandelier-lit ballroom, tennis court, Venetian windows, and extensive grounds,” per the publication.<\/p>\n

But the move represents not only a new environment but also a fresh start after what Kate has described<\/a> as a \u201creally, really difficult\u201d period during her cancer battle<\/a>. In a candid moment at Colchester Hospital last month, she reflected on the lingering effects of treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,\u201d she described. \u201cTreatment\u2019s done, then it\u2019s like, \u2018I can crack on, get back to normal,\u2019 but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before Adelaide Cottage, the family resided in Kensington Palace<\/a> in London before seeking out a quieter life in the Berkshire countryside.<\/p>\n

For William and Kate, both 43, the move is said to be entirely self-funded, with no extra cost to the taxpayer. Their three children\u2014Prince George<\/a>, 12, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 10, and Prince Louis, 7\u2014 will remain at Lambrook School
