All eyes are on Jordan as the Kingdom celebrated its 79th Independence Day over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Marking nearly eight decades since the country gained its sovereignty, the Jordanian royal family commemorated the occasion with a grand ceremony at the Al Husseiniya Palace.<\/p>\n

His Majesty King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein was joined by his children, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein<\/a>, Her Royal Highness Princess Salama, and the youngest, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem.<\/p>\n

Naturally, the assembly of government officials, a slew of high dignitaries and other royal members of the family attended the event to observe the King’s annual address.<\/p>\n

Prior to His Majesty’s entrance, the traditional Red Motorcade escorted him to the palace, where a 21-gun salute was fired in his honour. The moment and event further marked a tribute to the King’s leadership and the country’s achievements under his reign.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, to celebrate the occasion, the Crown Prince took to his Instagram page to share a heartfelt greeting to the people of Jordan. “Today, we celebrate the outstanding achievements of a group of Jordanians whose dedication continues to inspire,” he wrote, concluding with a patriotic “Happy Independence Day.”<\/p>\n

While the region was surely expecting the queen to grace the ceremony with her presence, this year, however, Her Majesty Queen Rania<\/a> was noticeably absent from the festivities. She celebrated the event in the comfort of her home with Princess Iman, due to a back injury.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, keeping her patriotic pride and high spirits, the queen took to Instagram to share a glimpse and said, “Happy Independence Day to our beloved Jordan!”<\/p>\n

She further mentioned, “I look forward to celebrating this day alongside His Majesty each year, but I am tuning in from home after treatment for back pain – with my dear Iman graciously keeping me company.”<\/p>\n
