Recently, Rumi Carter graced the stage<\/a> for the first time on the opening night of Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s<\/a> Cowboy Carter Tour. While her older sister, Blue Ivy Carter<\/a>, 13, has been a scene-stealing regular in her mother\u2019s dance ensemble since her Renaissance<\/em> era<\/a>\u2014and continues to grow in pop-culture relevance with each new step\u2014Rumi has mostly stayed out of the spotlight until now.<\/p>\n

With astronomically famous parents and a rising starlet for a sister, she already has a legacy built up for her. So, what should we know about Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s youngest daughter as she begins to follow in her family\u2019s footsteps? Read on for everything we know about the youngest Carter daughter.<\/p>\n

She has a twin brother<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cWe have been blessed\u00a0twice over,\u201d said Beyonc\u00e9 in her pregnancy announcement\u00a0Instagram post<\/a> in\u00a0<\/span>2017.\u00a0On June 13th of the same year, Rumi and Sir<\/a> were born, and the Carters became a family of five.<\/span> Rumi was named after the couple\u2019s favourite poet\u2014a Persian artist of the same name\u2014while their son \u201cjust carries himself like that [a Sir]\u201d according to<\/a> Jay-Z<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His grandmother, Tina Knowles<\/a>, has said that Sir is not as interested in the spotlight as his sisters and is on the quieter side. However, his mother still includes him, featuring pictures of him and his sisters on screen<\/a> during her blockbuster shows.<\/p>\n

She has been kept out of the limelight until now<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 and Jay-Z have mostly kept their twins out of the spotlight, with only a few public appearances since 2017. The pop icon explained in an interview with GQ<\/em><\/a>\u00a0 that this has been intentional.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve worked extremely hard on making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

However, she commented that as they have gotten older, \u201cthe more they become their own individuals,\u201d and revealed that her kids follow her to the studio, to dance rehearsals, and just about everywhere else she goes. \u201cShe\u2019s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage,” she revealed about her daughter’s desire to join her. “Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously and she earned it.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems that Rumi has now hit the same milestone as Blue with her recent stage debut.<\/p>\n

In 2019, at age 7, Blue became the youngest female artist to chart on the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100 thanks to her feature on Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u2018Brown Skin Girl\u2019. However, just last year Rumi broke this record<\/a>, featuring on \u2018Protector\u2019 from the Cowboy Carter <\/em>album at just age six.<\/p>\n

It was for this track that she joined Beyonc\u00e9 and Blue on stage for the first time recently, hugging her mother while being serenaded. It was not only a debut, but a beautiful family moment sure to melt even the coldest of hearts.<\/p>\n

Tina Knowles<\/a> commented on the sentimental scene with some insight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way she watches Blue and mirrors her every move\u2026 You can tell she\u2019s taking notes. She doesn\u2019t just want to join the legacy\u2026 she wants to SLAY it too!\u201d<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> her grandmother, Rumi is the dominant twin, and she is already displaying a strong personality. She went on to say that Rumi reminds her of Solange, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s younger sister.<\/p>\n

Knowles also described her as \u201can amazing artist, painter, and creator\u201d who is just as enveloped in creativity and fashion as the rest of her family. It makes sense, then, that despite her age, she has made a few appearances over the years. These include an Ivy Park campaign<\/a>, the 2022 Black Is King <\/em>visual album<\/a>, and\u00a0the\u00a0<\/em>promotional content <\/a>of Mufasa: The Lion King<\/em><\/span>. With her natural charisma and the creative mentors she has in her family, we\u2019re sure to see great things from the joint-youngest.<\/p>\n
