With the arrival of May comes the most illustrious affair of the fashion calendar: the Met Gala. On the first Monday of the month, the white tent once again envelops the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/a>, ushering in Hollywood’s finest for a night where style meets spectacle, and the red carpet becomes a canvas for sartorial storytelling.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme<\/a>, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style<\/em>, draws from Monica L. Miller\u2019s seminal book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity<\/em>, and is brought to life through an exhibition curated by Miller and The Costume Institute\u2019s Andrew Bolton. It charts the evolution of the Black Dandy\u2014from its 18th-century European origins to today\u2019s contemporary reinterpretations\u2014honouring the power, poetry, and politics of what we wear.<\/p>\n

More than just suits, this dress code asks guests to interpret tailoring in its most expressive form. Think razor-sharp cuts, subversive suiting, and silhouettes that speak to refined rebellion. Co-chaired by Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky, alongside Anna Wintour and honorary chair LeBron James, it\u2019s the first all-male panel to helm fashion\u2019s grandest occasion.<\/p>\n
