Few musical legacies remain as prolific as The Beatles. And now, Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes is set to bring the band\u2019s story to life\u2014not in one, but in four films.<\/p>\n

The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/em> will explore the journey of John Lennon<\/a>, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr from their individual perspectives, with the full backing of Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles\u2019 respective estates.<\/p>\n

Who will be cast in The Beatles<\/em>?<\/h2>\n

After months of speculation, Sony Pictures<\/a> has confirmed its all-star cast\u2014and it’s a veritable ‘who’s who’ of the Internet’s current infatuations.\u00a0Babygirl<\/em><\/a> star Harris Dickinson will play lead singer John Lennon<\/span>, Paul Mescal<\/a> will step into the shoes of Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan<\/a> will portray Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn will take on George Harrison.<\/p>\n

The cast made their official debut on stage at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas yesterday.<\/p>\n

Hints of this casting have surfaced in whispers for months, with Ringo Starr himself cheekily addressing Keoghan\u2019s role, noting the actor had started drum lessons. Meanwhile, Ridley Scott<\/a> accidentally let Mescal\u2019s involvement slip last December during a Q&A with Christopher Nolan.<\/p>\n

While on set for another project, Joseph Quinn got fans speculating when he was spotted toting a guitar around.<\/p>\n

Outside of the titular bandmates, The White Lotus<\/em> <\/a>star Amy Lou Wood has been suspected to be cast as George Harrison\u2019s ex-wife Pattie Boyd after posting hints<\/a> on Instagram, but we’ll stay tuned for confirmation.<\/p>\n

When Will The Films Be Released?<\/h3>\n

Sony has slated all four films for an ambitious April 2028 theatrical release. Yes, that’s right, no staggered wait times here.<\/p>\n

Mendes envisions them as a \u201cbingeable moment in cinema,\u201d with filming expected to kick off in London this July.<\/p>\n

What Are The Beatles<\/em> Movies About?<\/h3>\n

The logline is simple yet evocative: Each man has his own story, but together, they are legendary.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mendes, known for his masterful storytelling in 1917<\/em> and American Beauty<\/em>, will direct all four films, crafting an interwoven narrative that captures the meteoric rise of The Beatles. While the band\u2019s history has been chronicled countless times, Mendes believes there is still much to explore.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story was too big for one film,\u201d he explained at CinemaCon, per Deadline<\/em><\/a>, explaining how he tried fruitlessly to write a concise story before eschewing the traditional film format.<\/p>\n

With Mendes at the helm and the support of The Beatles\u2019 estates behind the project, The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/em> promises to be a major cultural moment\u2014one that will bring
