Ryan Murphy\u2019s retelling of American mythology continues. The celebrated creator is now turning his lens to one of the most tragic love stories of the 20th century: the whirlwind romance of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latest in Murphy\u2019s anthology universe, American Love Story<\/em>, promises a gripping ode to a couple who captivated the world with their New York City glamour and private turbulence.<\/p>\n

What is American Love Story<\/em> About?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While an official synopsis remains under wraps, American Love Story<\/em> will dramatise the high-profile relationship of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Known as the golden couple of the \u201890s New York social scene, their love story dominated headlines before culminating in a devastating plane crash off Martha\u2019s Vineyard in 1999 that claimed both their lives\u2014he was 38, she was 33.<\/p>\n

A former model turned fashion publicist at Calvin Klein, Bessette was already immersed in the industry\u2019s inner sanctum when she met Kennedy, an heir to America\u2019s controversial political dynasty. The son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, JFK Jr. was not just the scion of political royalty but a modern-day celebrity with major cultural cachet. Together, the couple were revered and, in turn, hounded by paparazzi. Decades later, their influence is still felt across couple goal moodboards and 90s style references.<\/p>\n

Murphy\u2019s penchant for mining America\u2019s most sensationalised stories is well established\u2014from The People v. O.J. Simpson<\/em> to Monsters: The Menendez Brothers’ Story<\/em><\/a>, his high-drama lens on history is unflinching, grand, and always immaculately staged with a spectacle of sartorial eye candy.<\/p>\n

American Love Story<\/em> promises to be no different, capturing not just the aesthetic but the journey of a relationship that lived in the spotlight long before social media.<\/p>\n

Who Will Play JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Casting has begun to take shape, with Variety<\/em><\/a> confirming that Sarah Pidgeon will portray Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.<\/p>\n

Known for her breakout performance in The Wilds<\/em> and a recent turn on Broadway\u2019s Tony-winning play, Stereophonic<\/em>, Pidgeon has been selected to take on the role.<\/p>\n

As for JFK Jr.? The late heartthrob stands to be cast.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Deadline<\/em><\/a> has reported that the series will also spotlight Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Caroline Kennedy, suggesting a rich family portrait.<\/p>\n
