The UAE has long been recognised for its commitment to progress and support for women, and it is more so celebrated for its inclusion and strides to make the nation safer and better.<\/p>\n

Amongst the slew of reforms they have introduced across the seven emirates in the past few months, the UAE has introduced new additional laws that will support Emirati women and working mothers, aiming to empower and foster greater care.<\/p>\n

In its latest move, the UAE has set up special regulations in key areas, particularly in parental leave and housing support, to help ensure Emirati women have enough resources to balance their professional lives and their well-being. Marking the country’s initiative, the new policies are a reminder of UAE’s continuous commitment who has long championed women.<\/p>\n

Special Rights For Emirati Mothers<\/h3>\n

In a move to further support working mothers, the General Pension and Social Security Authority, also known as the (GPSSA) has recently announced a new regulation that allows Emirati women to take up to three years of leave to care for their children. During this period, they must continue their monthly contributions to further secure their end-of-service benefits, in line with the Federal Law (57) of 2023.<\/p>\n

The initiative aligns with the GPSSA’s long-standing commitment to supporting and empowering Emirati women across various fields. This is especially due to its instilled values that Emirati women have long been pillars in the nation.<\/p>\n

Housing support for Emirati women<\/h3>\n

Another significant reform that has been initiated is housing support for Emirati women. The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, has announced that the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (founded by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 1999) has introduced specific regulations to facilitate housing assistance based on their social status. These considerations are particularly set across six main categories, which include custodial widows, custodial divorcees, orphans, women of unknown parentage, women who have lost both parents and elderly women.<\/p>\n

According to Arabian Business<\/em><\/a>, the minister further emphasised that the programme has been designed to help promote family stability and unity and ensure a decent standard of living in the
