Releasing the official music video of her song Yabn El Eh<\/em>, Palestinian-Chilean pop singer Elyanna, has merged a particular set of aesthetics marking yet another Arab star’s take on contemporary fashion.<\/p>\n

We’ve seen the consistent rise of Elyanna’s fame amounting to more than just a singer. Taking the helm as an international star with a flair for style, this Palestinian Los Angeles-based singer has become a new fashion-forward inspiration for all of us.<\/p>\n

Particularly famous for her usual ensembles with the Keffiyeh in a myriad of ’90s-based styles in the form of scarves, skirts, crop tops\u00a0and bandanas, for Yabn El Eh,<\/em> Elyanna decided to move closer to the Y2K era of fashion.<\/p>\n

The Nazareth-born artist played with traditional Palestinian and Arab motifs, such as gold jewellery, the wuqaya and henna. All the while singing about the woes of modern romance, the music video highlighted her body-fitted ombre black and red dress with key golden accent pieces infused with culture.<\/p>\n

The running theme across her outfits was designed by her sister as well as head stylist, Tali Marjieh, coining it as Arab Futurism according to an interview with Cosmopolitan Middle East<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Seen in the music video and in her previous appearances, they reintroduced the baseball cap adorned with gold coins covered by a black lace veil, a nod to the traditional Palestinian headdress, the wuqaya. All the while balancing these cultural cues with references to modern pop, they took inspiration from her jewellery as well, mainly the golden waist chain and bracelet.<\/p>\n

Aside from paying homage to two cultural fashion eras, Yabn El Eh<\/em>, also paid special attention to the electro-acoustic beats highlighted by the daburka drum played by Ava Nashs, and the stringed instrument, oud, by Yunus
