Sheikha Moza of Qatar recently took her first engagement of the month, and like always, she champions her advocacy to be a flagbearer for Arab excellence with finesse.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser attended the Arab Global Scholars (AGS) Annual Gathering. A yearly meeting where scientists, innovators, and researchers unite upon common interest to celebrate Arab contributions in the field of science and humanities.<\/p>\n

Taking to the podium, wearing a fitted black abaya coat and silky satin top with signature ribbons, Sheikha Moza, the Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation, applauded the Arab change makers of the region. \u201cToday we held the annual Arab Global Scholars gathering \u2013 a natural continuation of which we launched in 2006,\u201d she began.<\/p>\n

Further noting her passion of community collaboration, she added, \u201cI was delighted to meet this diverse community of scientists, innovators, researchers, research institutes, and industry partners, with whom we aim to strengthen our partnerships.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the inauguration of the AGS, Sheikha Moza noted how Arab innovation is continuously and rapidly expanding with new means of collaboration. \u201cToday, AGS members may be based anywhere in the world, as through technology we explore new and different methods of collaboration,\u201d the Qatari royal stated.<\/p>\n

More so championing the fact that Qatar and the Middle East is making it easier for everyone to contribute to significant solutions, she said that the \u201cregion is [getting] stronger and better able to overcome the challenges of the 21st century.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under the patron of the Qatar Foundation, which the Sheikha spearheads, her appearance at the event marks a significant stride to link all Arab scholars towards Qatar and the Middle East\u2019s development in the world of science.<\/p>\n

Who is Sheikha Moza?<\/h3>\n

Her Royal Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al-Missned, the wife of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is a fashion icon regionally and globally and a keen philanthropist.<\/p>\n

The 63-year-old mother of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the current Emir of Qatar, is actively engaged in promoting education and other social reforms in Qatar and across the globe.<\/p>\n

She is well known for serving as the Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF). The matriarch has also taken part in many key development projects, both nationally and internationally.
