There are many classic sayings when New York City comes to mind, but they always stem back to one thing: it\u2019s a city for adventure, to explore, to do.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why when visiting the Big Apple, you\u2019d be hard-pressed to find a stay that would take you out of the city into a whole new realm. That is, until Aman opened its doors in Manhattan in 2022.<\/p>\n

Aman New York became the second urban property in the luxury hotel group\u2019s portfolio\u2014the first being in Tokyo, Japan, which launched in 2014\u2014so it\u2019s safe to say the expectations were high for it.<\/p>\n

Situated in an iconic location\u2014730 Fifth Avenue, to be precise\u2014in an iconic and historic building, the Crown Building, Aman New York seamlessly merges the serenity and timeless ethos of Aman with the bustling vibrancy of NYC.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s hard to believe, the property really does feel like a retreat miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, whilst remaining entrenched in arguably the most central location of the city.<\/p>\n

The remarkable Manhattan-based building itself has a storied history first opening its doors in 1921 serving many purposes throughout its century-long existence, including being the first home of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), before undergoing a meticulous transformation led by Jean-Michel Gathy of architecture firm Denniston, to become Aman New York as we know it now.<\/p>\n

In classic and true Aman style, upon entry into the Crown Building, you instantly are transported from Midtown New York to a calming oasis on the ground floor lobby. The journey continues up to the 14th floor where you\u2019ll find the main gateway to the entirety of Aman New York, including its two restaurants Arwa, an Italian concept, and Nama, its Japanese eatery, as well as the impressive floor terrace and garden with 360-degree views of the concrete jungle.<\/p>\n

A short walk down to the next set of elevators, all the while in the company of the impeccable Aman New York team all calmly saying to guests, \u201cWelcome home\u201d, you make your way to the hotel\u2019s plush accommodations which, as expected are nothing short of spectacular, arguably bringing a new standard of sophistication to the city.<\/p>\n

Boasting a total of 83 suites, ranging in size from 750 to 2,770 square feet (far bigger than any standard New York apartment or hotel room you\u2019d find), each one features a unique blend of design elements, from traditional Japanese aesthetics to sleek, contemporary New York style. Think high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, rich materials including oak, stone and bronze, paired with state-of-the-art technology \u2013 it really makes for cutting-edge convenience.<\/p>\n

While the suite makes for a haven in itself that\u2019s hard to leave, Aman New York also houses an expansive 25,000-square-foot wellness centre and spa, which spans across three floors of the building. This features the luxury spa with treatments rooted in Eastern wellness traditions and includes services such as acupuncture, chakra balancing and personalised wellness therapies; a 20-metre heated indoor pool; state-of-the-art gym facilities; hair and nail salons; Pilates and yoga studio; and much more.<\/p>\n

Gastronomy wise you\u2019re not spoilt for choice, but when it comes to Aman you don\u2019t need to be. The main dining concept is Arva which focuses on bringing the traditional and rustic cuisine from Italy to the heart of New York City. Then there\u2019s Nama, Aman New York\u2019s Japanese concept, bringing the spirit of washoku dining tradition to the heart of the West. Offering a refined, authentic experience, Nama boasts an uncomplicated menu that elevates the finest global ingredients and packs a punch in flavour and style. Signature dishes are crafted to highlight natural flavours, reflecting the care and artistry synonymous with Japanese cuisine.<\/p>\n

The crowning jewel, however, has to be the Jazz Club by Aman New York. Bringing a cool and quirky element to the property, the Jazz Club transports you back to the bygone New York era with live performances by world-class musicians in a chic art deco and exclusive setting.<\/p>\n
