Blake Lively is having quite the summer. Between making a cameo appearance as \u2018Lady Deadpool\u2019 alongside Emma Corrin and her husband Ryan Reynolds in Marvel\u2019s <\/span>Deadpool & Wolverine <\/span><\/i>and gearing up to release the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover\u2019s best-selling novel <\/span>It Ends With Us, <\/span><\/i>the star had time to sneak in one more project. (And no, we\u2019re not counting her trip to Capri to film <\/span>A Simple Favour 2 <\/span><\/i>or her visit to Spain to watch Taylor Swift\u2019s <\/span>Eras Tour<\/span><\/i>.) <\/span><\/p>\n

On July 30, the actress piqued our interest after following and tagging an Instagram account with the handle \u2018Blake Brown Beauty\u2019. The page currently has one post\u2014a blonde woman with her tresses in a loose bun standing back to the camera and flicking up the collar of her leather jacket. With the figure sporting Lively\u2019s signature shade of honey blonde, it\u2019s assumed that the 36-year-old is making her next venture into the cosmetics, skincare and haircare realm. Could we finally have the key to achieving Serena van der Woodsen\u2019s blonde waves? <\/span><\/p>\n

Lively hasn\u2019t publicly acknowledged the existence of the account yet. But with the label\u2019s title a homage to her biological name, it\u2019s apparent the project is incredibly personal. For the uninitiated, Lively was born \u2018Blake Brown\u2019 yet used her last name as a stage name. \u2018Lively\u2019 comes from her mother\u2019s surname, which was taken from her first husband. <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Gossip Girl <\/span><\/i>alumni\u2019s father sadly passed away in 2021 and used his wife\u2019s last name throughout his career as an actor. This wouldn\u2019t be the first time Lively looked to her family history when choosing an epithet for her businesses. Her line of ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages and sparkling mixers, Betty Booze and Betty Buzz respectively, is not only inspired by the name of her youngest daughter but also by her paternal aunt and grandmother. <\/span><\/p>\n

“My dad’s name was Ernest Brown Jr. but he was known as Ernie Lively,” she said in a 2021 press release announcing the venture. \u201cHe gave up his last name when he married my mom and any success he, or I, have experienced has been in a name that isn’t his,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was working hard to build this company, I wanted any success to be in a name that was meaningful to him. Betty was his mom and his sister’s name. Also, Ernie would not be the best name for a mixer.” <\/span><\/p>\n

A filing under the United States Patent and Trademark Office reveals the details of\u00a0 Blake Brown\u2019s product offering. As per the registration documents, the brand might offer everything from hair preparations and treatments, sprays, shampoos and conditioners, hair colouring preparations, serums, masks and oil.
