As we wait for the arrival of her first child<\/a> with husband Justin Bieber<\/a>, Hailey Bieber has revealed she is \u201cnot super close\u201d with her family these days.<\/p>\n

The Rhode beauty<\/a> founder, who announced that she was six months pregnant<\/a> back in May,\u00a0 explained in a new interview with W<\/em> magazine<\/a> that she is focused on setting up her own family unit rather than trying to make things work with her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I\u2019m very independent,” she told the outlet. “I\u2019m my own individual now, and I\u2019ve built my own family.”<\/p>\n

Bieber, 27, affirmed that she had a happy childhood, despite any current disconnects.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories,\u201d she noted, adding that despite her proximity to fame, she got to have a \u201cfairly normal childhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I come from the family that I come from,” she acknowledged. “I always recognised that that was different.”<\/p>\n

Though she didn’t hint at any particular feuds or points of contention, the past year has been a tumultuous one for the Baldwins.<\/p>\n

When her father, Stephen Baldwin, posted a public call for his followers to pray for Hailey and Justin’s marriage<\/a> in February, the frenzy it sparked only spurred conspiracy theories about their relationship. The model was reportedly “p—-d” at her father, and the situation prompted her to make a rare statement clearing up any theories.<\/p>\n

That same month, Bieber’s sister, Alaia Baldwin, was arrested<\/a> for simple assault, simple battery, battery and criminal trespassing. While inebriated, the 31-year-old allegedly threw her used tampon at a bar employee.<\/p>\n

Bieber and her sister, who welcomed a daughter of her own in 2020, are not very public about their relationship.<\/p>\n

While no due date has been revealed, it looks like the Biebers are set to welcome their bundle of joy in August. How involved her family will be in this next chapter is anyone’s guess, but for now, the expecting mother explained that she is focused on enjoying the time that it is just her and her husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the beginning [of pregnancy], it was super emotional for me. Like, \u2018I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?\u2019\u2009\u201d she told the magazine. \u201cI\u2019m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.\u201d<\/p>\n
