In the business of Hollywood, relationships seem to come and go like TikTok trends, but there are some that have stood the test of time. One of those enduring couples is Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively<\/a>. So, how does one navigate the trials and tribulations of fame while keeping the magic alive? Well, according to Reynolds, it’s not all that different from friendships.<\/p>\n

During an interview with People<\/em><\/a> with Hugh Jackman<\/a> discussing their near-two-decade friendship, the Deadpool<\/em> star explained how they’ve cultivated a lasting relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the secret sauce to a long-lasting Hollywood friendship is not too dissimilar to having a partner or a marriage,\u201d he told Jackman. \u201cI am genuinely rooting for you, all the time. I want you to win. It\u2019s the same way I feel about Blake [Lively].”<\/p>\n

“As I\u2019m rooting for her, I know she\u2019s rooting for me, and it\u2019s why we\u2019re so connected,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, Reynolds mentioned a similar sentiment about marriage, gushing about the friendship between him and his wife.<\/p>\n

“We don\u2019t take each other too seriously, but we\u2019re also friends,” he told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a>. “Falling in love is great, but do you like each other? That\u2019s kinda the question you gotta ask yourself, you know, going into it. We\u2019ve always liked each other. We grow together. We learn from each other. So yeah, I\u2019m lucky to have a buddy in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lively and Reynolds met in 2010 and initially struck up a friendship when they starred in Green Lantern<\/em> together\u2014the duo once even went on a double date together with other people before turning their attention towards each other.<\/p>\n

Eventually, they realised their sparks were a little more than platonic, got engaged less than a year into officially dating and married in 2012.
